Below, you’ll find some art that I snagged from her DA page. The first two are related to TDUGN. The third isn’t dragon-related, but I thought it was awesome, so couldn’t resist putting it up as well.

WG was kind enough to send several pieces over to pleasure your eyeholes. I’m a big fan of WG’s work as well. It’s humorous, insightful, satirical and whimsical and a lot of it puts me in mind of Eric Orchard’s work in a way. Plus, it’s refreshing to see art used to communicate such a variety of messages (from mental health issues to belief systems and…robots ). Take a look at the 3 images down below and I think you’ll see exactly what I mean. La Macchina Bellica is set in a neo-Victorian/Steampunk world of Deanna’s own creation. It’s a lot like Earth, but then again it’s got some pretty stark differences too. Here’s her intro straight from the website:

“La Macchina Bellica takes place on Vesudha, a planet vaguely reminiscent of Earth. It is divided into two continents, Feuerland and Calanthia. For nearly a thousand years, the two continents have been in constant struggle for territory. With the unearthing of buried technology, both sides have been building steam powered war machines. As more technology is uncovered from various ruins and dig sites around the planet, the battle escalates. Peace is tenuous and strained at best, and rarely lasts more than a few months or years.

This story follows both sides of the conflict: the Devons, a Calanthian family living in the capital city of Solaris, torn by internal strife and the story of the Feuerlandian battleship the Reinheit.”

I went in not really knowing what to expect, and was quickly enthralled with Deanna’s art – it’s lovely! She does action, suspense, conversational and romantic scenes with equal aplomb and the work itself is beautiful. Both of the images below are part of the GN, but I snagged them from Deviant Art. I love both pics, but the second is probably my favorite just because of the way she captured the raw emotion of the scene in the shape/format of the panels. Anyway, the two pieces below are from Tommie’s Moments series (no, I couldn’t decide on just one ) I actually have one from the series on the wall of my office (this one here – slightly NSFW). While neither is technically “fantasy” I think they fit the theme very nicely. Take a minute to check out Tommie’s work on his site, dig his portfolio or hit him up on Twitter. He’s also the self-styled dictator of ICN (Irish Comic News) and one day he will rule the world as the all powerful dark overlord
