So, the interesting experiment with my KDPS giveaway for At the Edge of the World ended yesterday. It actually WAS pretty interesting, and there were some rather surprising results. I went into this not really expecting much of anything, and I didn’t do much in the way of promotion, other than tweets and FB posts. Here’s the results:
Total free units downloaded: 226 (US: 178 UK: 44 DE: 4 (lol)
Total sales of other books: 0 (didn’t really expect any)
Top rank held: #10 in the US Historical Fantasy List and #10 on the UK Historical Fantasy List (#38 on the same list for Germany)
Other Results: 2 likes on Amazon US and 1 5-star review on Amazon UK
For the entire duration of the giveaway, the book never fell below #28, and mostly stayed between #10 and #18 across the board.
Overall, I’m wowed by the number of downloads, and more so by the amazing support of my readers and friends on both Twitter and Facebook. To you all, I say THANK YOU!
Now, this is only the end of part of the experiment. The rest will be seeing how the book does on Kindle’s lending program for Prime members. Again, I’m not going in with huge expectations, and I don’t plan to do any more promotion than I did for the giveaway. I’ll post the results of it in July, once the enrollment period ends.
